Spring Break ’14 Part 2 – Beach!

April 3, 2014 By Julia Leave a Comment

We were so excited to FINALLY get to
Florida on Tuesday of Spring Break!
The only thing that makes being at the
beach better is being at the beach
with Nina and Preacher!
The girls never missed a chance to
strike a pose!
They were so excited
to see a rainbow
the 1st night we were there!
No beach trip to Panama City
is complete without seeing the alligators!
It was cool but that didn’t
stop us from enjoying the
sun and the sand!

Isla was definitely my
little model all
week long!
Lottie didn’t care too much about the sand!
Family Beach Tradition=
Boiled Peanuts!
Nixon and Isla’s
best friend Libby from
Phenix City came to spend the day
with us! Along with my good friend, Donna.
We had so much fun!
The kids enjoyed the water-park area
although it was COLD!
Donna and I stuck with the hot tub
along with Lottie and Roman!
We had a very yummy lunch
from Firehouse Subs!
Thanks to Donna’s sister!
We headed back down to the beach
to build sand castles
and play!
Lottie avoided sitting
or standing in the sand!
Such sweet friends!
We loved getting to catch
up and spend time
 with Libby and Donna!
I love my sweet family!
Isla told Lottie
to put her hands on her hips! 🙂

Best Friends!
We ate at the Back Porch
that evening.

My girls love crab claws!
and ice cream!!
Crazy Girls!
We were sad to say goodbye to
our sweet friends!
Our last day there
it was a little chillier so
Preacher took Roman to see
the Lego Movie and the girls
went to lunch!

Taking a family photo is so hard!
We hit the beach after
lunch!
This is Roman’s
cold look! 🙂
How my kids pass time until
the elevator arrives!
Every trip to the
beach must include someone
getting buried in the sand!
Despite several minor
setbacks the kids had a blast
and great memories were made!
Grandparents, good friends, the beach,
and yummy food! What more
do you need for a successful spring break?

Spring Break ’14 Part 1

March 11, 2014 By Julia Leave a Comment

The kids and I traveled to Tuscaloosa
Saturday to spend a few days
with their cousins and grandparents.
We kicked our Sprig Break off with
celebrating Pop’s birthday!
He had a lot of help
blowing out his candles.
Riding the “roller coaster”
down to the lake was definitely
a highlight of their stay!
They enjoyed feeding the ducks!
Lottie & Pop!
Playing on the deck!
They love their Gue & Pop!
Of course my Drama Queen
had to squeeze in a photo-shoot!
It was a beautiful couple of days
to play outside!
Lottie and Ivy had
 a fun time together!

They played nonstop and
 only took breaks to eat!!
On Sunday the kids had
 fun decorating the boy’s
Bat Cave and rocket.
We ended our stay with
All You Can Eat Pancakes
at McDonalds!
We had a great time visiting with
Gue, Pop, Aunt Deidre, Uncle Jim,
and the cousins!
The only thing missing was Jared.
Looking forward to
 all being together
again at Easter!

Peek-A-Boo! Look Who’s Two! Part 1- American Girl Boutique

January 15, 2014 By Julia 2 Comments

The older girls have been begging for
American Girl dolls since last Christmas.

Since Lottie was having a Baby Doll Birthday
I thought it would be the perfect
day to take the girls to The American Girl Boutique.
We stopped for hotdogs and hamburgers on the way!
The Birthday girl LOVES hotdogs!
This was our 1st time
at the American Girl Boutique!
Lottie & Jenn Jenn split the
two twins.
Isla chose to bring home Caroline.
Nixon chose a doll that looked like her
with brown hair and blue eyes.
She named her Emma.
It took a while but
all the girls finally chose a doll,
an outfit, and matching accessories.
I think Isla and Nixon enjoyed riding the
escalator as much as they did the dolls.
It didn’t take long before the
Birthday Girl was out!
We were so happy that Gue was
in town to join us!
Lottie did wake up in time for a few pictures!
Since Johnna Katherine and
Julianna already had dolls they
visited the Doll Hair Salon
to give their dolls a new look!.
We surprised the girls
with a visit to the
American Girl Bistro for milkshakes!
The Birthday Girl enjoyed a
birthday milkshake &
blowing 2 more candles!
She LOVES milkshakes
& baby dolls!
I am very thankful
we were able to make Lottie’s
birthday so fun for all
the girls!
It was such a fun day!
I am sure it was the 1st of many trips to
the American Girl Boutique.
We left and headed home for
a baby shower for all our new dolls!

Miscellaneous Christmas Fun!

January 11, 2014 By Julia Leave a Comment

It never fails, I always regret
 not taking enough pictures.
These are in no particular order.
I had a bad habit this holiday season
of not charging my camera battery.
So below are just a few of
 our fun memories
of this Christmas season!
Christmas Choir Program
We were so proud of Roman!
The girls did great too!
Pajama Day at School
The girls love
Mrs. Lukas!
We kickstart every Christmas
season at the mall in Tuscaloosa
on Black Friday!
What’s more fun than being
at the mall on Black Friday
with 9 kids?!?!
Annual Train Ride
Lottie would have
nothing to do with the train!
Christmas Class Parties
Nixon’s class played a snowman game.
She was the snowman.
Nixon & Ryan
Nixon & Mrs. Sperry
They had a pancake breakfast!
Nixon & Hadley
Nixon & Jasia
Isla & Daddy
Isla let Roman
in on the fun at her party!
Nativity Painting
Every year we get a new nativity.
This year the kids painted one.
Nina painted baby Jesus.
I’m pretty sure this will be my favorite
nativity for years to come!

Farewell Breakfast

January 10, 2014 By Julia Leave a Comment

We didn’t get to have our annual
Northpole Breakfast this year on December 1st
so I decided we would
have it on Christmas Eve morning.
It somehow developed into a
“Farewell Breakfast”
for Casey our Elf. It was a great way to
say goodbye to Casey!
Casey left a letter to the
kids saying goodbye.
WHAT DID WE EAT?
 Strawberry Santas!

Hot Chocolate
 Flavored Cupcakes
with Yummy Marshmallow Icing!
Grinch Fruit!
White Donut
Christmas Tree
(Roman added the angel)
Reindeer Pancakes
Nina’s Delicious
Orange Bread
The kids each got
a Christmas Eve treat!
We all enjoy our
annual Christmas breakfast!

While looking through these
pictures I thought of the quote,
“The Best Thing About Memories,
is Making Them.”
I love making memories
with my children.
