“When I Grow Up I Want to be a Wedding Girl”

May 16, 2013 By Julia Leave a Comment

I saw the idea on Pinterest to
have pictures taken of your little girl
 while playing dress-up
in your wedding gown.
I LOVED the idea.
I wanted to take the
pictures at the girl’s
5th birthday but since
they are only 15 months
apart it made
sense to do both
at the same time.
They turned out beautiful!
Thanks to my friend April Sawyer!
Nixon Grace ~ 5 Years
Isla Katherine ~ 4 1/2 years
We didn’t want to leave Lottie
out! Don’t worry! We will
pull the dress out in 4 more years!
Charlotte Rose ~ 10 months
“Therefore a man shall leave
 his father and his mother
and hold fast to his wife, and
they shall become one.” Genesis 2:24
Lord willing, one day each of my girls will
fall head over heels in love
and find a man to spend the rest of her life with.
I look forward to pulling
out these pictures
and showing the girls how
 they played dress-up
in their mommy’s wedding gown.
I will remind them of a time when
all they wanted was to grow
up and be a “wedding girl”.
May their dreams come true
and God answer mine and Jared’s
prayers for two Godly
 men who love the Lord
and will lead and provide for them
the rest of their days.
Until then girls,
keep telling yourself
“Girls Rule, Boys Drool”! 🙂

Cinco “Tomorrow”

May 6, 2013 By Julia 2 Comments

While Jessica and Jane Madelynn
are in Minneapolis we are
trying to keep the kids busy!
Haley and I decided to throw the
kids a Cinco De Mayo
 Party this afternoon!
It’s amazing all the things we could
throw together with
items around the house!
The kids had no idea what
Cinco De Mayo was
and they kept calling
it Cinco “Tomorrow”.
It was cute,
 so it stuck!
The kids decorated Mexican ponchos
made out of paper grocery bags!
Lottie even tried coloring!
Lottie loved her poncho
and showing off her walking skills!
No party is complete
without a little
karaoke!
They played a little limbo!
Nixon won!
We made yummy goodies!
Sombrero Hat Cookies!
Mexican Flag Pudding Jello!
Pretzel & Grape Maracas!
The food was a hit!
We had a fiesta picnic outside!
Lottie loved her jello!
It was a fun day!
Haley made an individual pinata
for each child! They turned out so cute!
Of course the kids loved them!
CANDY!!!!
It was a fun day with cousins!
Maybe we started a few new
Cinco Tomorrow traditions?!?!?!

Gue and Pop’s Egg Hunt!

April 8, 2013 By Julia Leave a Comment

For the past few years
by the time Easter finally arrived
the kids had attended 3 or 4
Easter Egg hunts.
For some reason or another this
year we did not go to any
which made the annual egg hunt at Gue
and Pop’s even more special and fun!
The cousins lined up waiting for
Walker and Gue to
hide all the eggs!
All the cousins had
on their Easter shirts.
Roman loved his because it had
a mustache like Pop!
Eggs were hidden everywhere
for the kids to find!
Ready, Set, Go!
It was Lottie’s 1st
egg hunt that she was old enough to
participate.
When she wasn’t walking by her 1st birthday
I knew she would be walking by
Easter!
But she proved me wrong :/
Why walk when someone
will carry you everywhere you need to go?
Even to pick up eggs!
Roman loved finding eggs!
Isla was so excited!
She found the silver egg!
I hope $1 always gets
her this excited!
Nixon definitely won the
prize for finding the most eggs!
Everyone was so excited to
find prizes inside their eggs!
Nixon’s favorite egg
prize was the baby chicks
Roman’s favorite
(and I’m pretty sure all the boys)
were the army men!
Isla’s favorite
(besides the $1)
were the rings and candy!
Lottie definitely
loved the candy
inside the eggs too!
The kids always
look forward to the egg
hunt in Leroy!
Even baby cousin Ivy joined
in on the fun!
The showing off their eggs
is a way we get them to line up for a
group picture!
This is all the cousins
 besides Walker.
( he’s a little too old for Easter Egg hunts)
I never really got a
great shot of everyone looking.
Fun times and great memories
made at Gue and Pop’s!
We love cousins, traditions
and prizes!

Daddy-Daughter Dance

April 7, 2013 By Julia 2 Comments

Tonight was our 1st
Daddy/Daughter Dance!
Nixon has been looking for the perfect
dress for months!
It was one of the 1st times
I let her go shopping
and pick out whatever she wanted.
She insisted that
it sparkle and twirl!
(I vetoed a few one shoulder
dresses and very over priced ones)

I am pretty sure it was the
butterflies that sold her on her final choice.
She let me curl her hair for the big event.
(which she never lets me do)
She was beautiful!
Jared surprised her
with a corsage.
Your daddy should always be
the 1st man to bring you flowers!
She loved it!

At the dance they…
Decorated and
ate cupcakes!
Played with the
balloons!
Danced!
Danced some more!
We actually watched Nixon
dance. We had no idea she
had so many moves!
She danced and played
with her friends!
She was so excited
when her best friend
Jayden showed up!
They danced for a while!
Everyone had a great time!
I asked them both what their
favorite part of the night was
and they both agreed it
was dancing together!
Towards the end
they were both tired.
Jared worked up a sweat
with all his dancing!
They headed out a few minutes early
to finish their
date at Sweet Frogs.
I couldn’t help but smile
 and laugh watching
Nixon on the
dance floor tonight!
I’m so glad I volunteered so
I could be there.
She was wonderful!
She is definitely my little
Dancing Queen.

1st Visit to LegoLand!

March 11, 2013 By Julia Leave a Comment

In January we took our
1st visit to LegoLand!
Roman was super
excited! He is our
Lego loving child!
We learned how legos are made!
We took a fun roller coaster
ride into the main room!
Lottie was unsure
about the ride!
The kids had
so much fun!
Roman obviously did
not follow directions.
But he was so excited they
had a “Roll Tide”
made of legos!
I didn’t get pictures of
everything but there was a ton of fun
things to do!
 Nixon was
at school and she
missed out on the fun so
we have promised to
 go again sometime soon!
