Easter Day 2012

May 26, 2012 By Julia 2 Comments

I am VERY behind on our blog.
I’m having to track all the way back to Easter!
I hope to catch up this weekend!
Easter Day!
Easter day we went to church and the kids
wore their beautiful outfits Gue made them.
Pictures on Easter in Leroy.
For the past three years we have celebrated Easter lunch
with our Summerville family
at Mrs. Alma Davis’s home.
We had great food and great fellowship!
The kids wore outfits I made them
for the Easter lunch!
It was pretty bright outside so
I did not get a very good picture of all 4!
The girls and their best
friend Libby!
Lunch was delicious!!!
Lottie hung out with
“Uncle” Robb all afternoon!

After lunch the kids had a great time

hunting for eggs!
They also had a fun
time running around the front yard!

Easter evening we gave the kids
their Easter baskets.
The girls waiting for their baskets!
Roman loved his Power Ranger
 and chocolate bunny!

Each year I put a bathing
suit in the kids basket.
This year they got two!

Lottie got alot of goodies!
I found these coupons to
put in eggs on Pinterest.
The girls LOVED them!
They are still trying to use them!!1
We had a wonderful
day celebrating Jesus’s death
 and resurrection on
Easter Sunday.
We are so blessed to have such a
wonderful church family to
share the day with!

Summerville’s Easter Party!

April 9, 2012 By Julia Leave a Comment

Last weekend was the
church’s Easter Egg Hunt.
It rained all day so it was
pretty muddy outside.
Wheelchairs and mud do not mix so I
unfortunately had to stay
 home with Lottie.
By the pictures the kids look
 like they had a blast!

Haley took a few pictures of
the girls out front
before they left for the party.
(Roman has officially
decided he does NOT
like the camera!)
I love the bunny shirts
Gue sent the girls!
 What did they do
 at the Easter party?

They jumped and slid on inflatables!
They played ball!
They rode ponies!
They played with their friends!
 They rode paddle boats!
They saw the Easter bunny!
They played on the playground!
 They played in mud!
They ate snacks and hotdogs!
I hear Roman ate 5 cupcakes!!!!
And of course,
 they searched for Easter eggs!
Although I was unable to attend I am
so thankful for the Throwers for having
the Easter Egg Hunt at their home.
They have done such a wonderful job
the past two years since we have been here.
Our kids had such an awesome time.
They are already looking forward to next year!

Favorite Things Party!

December 5, 2011 By Julia 1 Comment

For the past few months several ladies and
I have been meeting @ Starbucks on Wednesday
nights for bible study and fellowship.
For our Christmas party we wanted to do
something different so we had a
 “Favorite Things Party”
(of course I found this idea on Pinterest).
I made the invitation using photoshop
and glued it to a piece of
brown cardboard box
and tied blue “satin” ribbon around it!
(following the lyrics of the song)

Basically everyone had to bring 5
of their favorite things ($6 limit)
That is 5 of the SAME item!
As soon as everyone arrived to Jamie’s house
(Jamie so graciously offered her house since
she does not have kids to clean up after)
they were to write their names 5x and place them in the bowl!

They were then to grab a tag off the tree!
 The tags served two purposes:
They each had a # and a question.
The number told what order each of
us would draw 5 names out of the bowl
and pass out our gifts.
The question was just a fun
“ice-breaker” or “get to know you” activity!
We had a fun time sharing
our answers with everyone!
Everyone also had to secretly
answer a short questionnaire!
A few of the questions were:
Favorite Food?
Favorite Movie of 2011?
Favorite Make-Up Item?
Favorite Drink?
We then guessed to see if we could figure
out who had filled out each sheet!
Again, just another fun way to
learn more about each other!
I loved that we asked everyone to
bring their favorite desert or appetizer!
Below is just a few of the favorite
 foods that were brought!
Everyone was given a brown paper
bag to put their goodies in!
(my printer as you can see was running out of ink!)
The party began!
Stacy, Donna, and Jamie
Laura, Candi, and Sheryl
Carmen, Jennifer, and Becca
(I was taking pictures of course)
 Laura was excited about Candi’s
 two favorite things.
A candle and fuzzy socks!
Stacey drew her 5 names as we
anxiously awaited to see
who she would draw!
Everyone really wanted what she brought!
A cup that she had put polka dots
on using her cricut filled with snickers!
 Everyone brought great gifts!
Bath and Body Works hand
sanitizers and car deodorizers!
Christmas Ornaments and Scarfs!
More hand sanitizer, a candle, and travel
toothbrush and tooth paste!
 Warm Fuzzy Footies!
(this was what I brought)
Fingernail polish, remover,
and foot scrubber!
Chocolate!
And Becca brought a little bit of everything!
(in some fancy wrapping I might add)
I remember there were chocolate
mints, planners and notepads!
Apparently several of us really love
clean hands and warm feet!
We had a great time!
We missed those were not able
to make it but we will definitely
 do this again next year!
It was a wonderful party idea!

Lottie’s Baby Shower!

November 14, 2011 By Julia Leave a Comment

Yesterday we were blessed by our
Summerville Family with a shower for Lottie!
I was overwhelmed with the all the details
put into the shower and the gifts we received.
They used the colors of the
nursery for the decorations.
They even tied in the elephants
from the curtains!
Table Centerpieces were too cute!
They snuck into my sewing room
and stole a square of fabric
 to monogram and frame!
I absolutely LOVE the canvas they made
with Nixon, Isla, and Roman’s handprints!
I can’t wait to use this pail
 Stacey made for Lottie!
It matches the nursery perfect!
Haley made this adorable arrangement of
cake pops and chocolate!
The cake pops were delicious!
Nixon enjoyed several of them!
C is for Charlotte!
And of course my favorite
thing at any shower….punch!
My friend Tiffany serving!
Lottie received so many wonderful gifts!
I had two very good helpers opening the gifts!
Laura helped me write down all we received!
Nixon said she could smell the
diapers as she opened them up! 🙂
Lottie got so much!
Nixon enjoyed admiring all the pretty things!
Isla enjoyed hiding under the gift table!

The girl’s and I were happy Mrs. Sue (Gue)
was able to come to the shower!
She sewed and smocked this beautiful dress
for Lottie to wear home from the hospital!

I am very thankful for all the women
who came to celebrate Lottie’s arrival!

Mrs. Janet, Stacey, and Sheryl
Jamie and Laura!
(who made a delicious Pinterest
recipe and deviled eggs!)
Abbie, Jordan, Kaleigh, and Olivia
I’m glad a few of the youth came to celebrate!
Nixon’s best church buddy, Libby!
Ellie, Haley, Erica, and Tiffany
Our college small group!
Haley, Janet, Donna, and Stacey
were a few of the ladies who helped host!
It was very nice being able to share this
special day with Nixon and Isla.
They are so excited for Lottie to arrive!

Words can not express how thankful
Jared and I are for our Summerville family.

We continually feel loved and supported.

We look forward to having Lottie and
her being a part of this special
church family along with us.

Summerville’s Fall Festival and Trick-or-Treat!

November 11, 2011 By Julia Leave a Comment

Halloween night we went
to our church’s fall festival!
The kids started the
night with corn-dogs
 and hotdogs!
 They played carnival games!
Nixon and Roman took a few pics!
Nixon loves her baby brother!
Roman hung out with his
 favorite buddy at church, TJ!
The 3 Dorothy’s!
Nixon’s two friends,
Maggie and Ansley,
were dressed as Dorothy too!
The girls took a break and
ate apples as they waited for the hayride!
We rode the hayride!
All Nixon talked about for
days before was rather or not
she was going to get to
go trick-or-treating.
So after the fall festival
I took the
kids to Haley’s house
to trick-or-treat!
Lynn had all the kids goodies!
The kids were so excited
to actually go trick-or-treating!
 We had a wonderful Halloween!
